If you're still reeling from this year's unsatisfactory
Valkyria spinoff, here's some pleasant reports: Valkyria Chronicles 4 is
happening, and it's arriving to PS4, Xbox One, and Switch in 2018. Don't be
anxious: publisher Sega says the overall game is coming to North America and
European countries, too.
Like its predecessors, Valkyria Chronicles 4 will be
arranged within a fictional twist of European countries during World Battle II,
blending turn-based strategy and third-person firing as you guide several
soldiers from fight to battle.
"Valkyria Chronicles 4 occurs in the same timeframe asthe original Valkyria Chronicles, but focuses on a complete new solid of mainpeople," said Sega in a news release. "Players will need control of
the keen, young Commander Claude Wallace, engineer/heavy weapons extraordinaire
Riley Miller, hotheaded Darcsen Raz, ice-cold ace sniper Kai Schulen, and more.
Together, they will experience the painful realities of war--but will the bonds
of Squad E's friendships endure the iced battlefield?"
Legendary composer Hitoshi Sakimoto will also go back for
Valkyria Chronicles 4, Sega says.
This would be the first proper game in the series in nearly
ten years. Sega released the first Valkyria Chronicles for PS3 in 2008, with a
sequel following on PSP in 2010 2010. Another game, Valkyria Chronicles III,
arrived in Japan for PSP in 2011 but never managed to get to English. This time
around, Sega's not keeping us in suspense.
